Paris Omympic 2024 opening ceremony will feature athletes being transported by boat from Pont d'Austerlitz to Pont d'Iéna along the Seine. The 6 km (3.7 miles) route will pass by local landmarks such as the Louvre, Notre-Dame de Paris, and Place de la Concorde.

The Pont d'Austerlitz is a bridge which crosses the Seine River in Paris, France. It owes its name to the battle of Austerlitz (1805).The bridge links the 12th arrondissement at the rue Ledru-Rollin, to the 5th and 13th arrondissements, at the Jardin des Plantes.

‘Most accessible’ Olympic opening ceremony on River Seine

 

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on July 26, 2024, will be held on the River Seine, organisers announced on Monday, breaking the long-held Summer Games tradition of a stadium procession of athletes and officials.
